The Political Desk: The National

United States Representative Congressional District No. 9. Adam Smith. My god, this feels SO much like a rerun. And in part its because its the same race the 9th Congressional District here, here, here and here, with the same opponent. And probably the same result. Adam Smith is definitely centrist in this day and age. His opponent is out of the right-wing hate radio, will hold down about a quarter of the vote, and then declare victory.

And actually, while I cannot get passionate about Adam Smith, I have to recognize he's done very well for the state and for Democrats over the years. He's the ranking member of the Armed Services committee, and while he supports a lot of the Department of Defense (and the bucks it brings into Boeing) he also has stood out against particularly wasteful projects and supported the needs of our servicemen and women. I've heard him speak on a wide variety of issues and respect both his commitment and his logic. He's nuanced, which is usually a kiss of death in that somebody is going to angry at him about something. But to be frank, you can't do much better than that.

So. Adam Smith. Adam Smith, Adam Smith, Adam Smith.

More later (Adam Smith).
